Plot:
Dear Student,
Sincerely,
Professor Snape, Headmaster
Towards the end of Harry's sixth year, he had laid there, helpless as he watched Dumbledore die right before his eyes. When he was able to tell the story, the ministry wouldn't believe him. The facts where right there and the ministry refused to look into it, even though it was clear as day that Snape was guilty, and that Draco Malfoy had a big part in it. Only the Gryffindor trio knows the truth, Lucius Malfoy had bribed, threatened, and paid the ministry into finding them all innocent.
When everyone heard how the school was to re-open, they were very surprised. Voldemort was gaining more power by the minute, and many found it ridiculous that they would ask for parents to send their children away for nine months. But it was true what the letter said, the school was much safer, explaining why 950 out of a 1,000 students boarded the familiar red train on a rainy September morning, eager to return Hogwarts.
Voldemort's return is far from being a secret. The ministry doesn't even know where to start, and regret not listening to Albus Dumbledore when they had the chance. Letting Snape and Draco off wasn't helping matters either, they could have been useful. So now they are struggling to even keep power. The Order of the Phoenix seems to know a lot more then they do, and won't share the information.
Harry Potter was very angry when Lupin and Tonks forced him to return to Hogwarts. They promised him the order would search for the horocruxes while he returned to safety and finished school. He wanted to be part of the search and help bring Voldemort down, but they keep pushing him away, refusing to listen to him like the rest of the world.
Without Dumbledore around to help, bringing down Voldemort will be harder then ever. Especially sense the ministry, the only group with even a little power, seems to be leaning toward Voldemort's side more...
The wizarding world is scared for their lives. Things are growing worse, slowly but surely. There have been random killings and the missing people reports have sky rocketed. Even stores with half-blooded owners refuse to hire muggle-borns anymore, for the fear they might attract death eaters or hurt business if a customer where to know. A war is brewing, and is bound to bubble over any day now. The community is waiting for the spark... that little wrong move that will set the war off...
Amongst the politics and the world falling apart, Hogwarts students must now worry about exams and carry on with their busy teenage lives, knowing that soon, everything is about to change.

Plot:
Dear Student,
We are pleased to inform you that Hogwarts will remain open, despite the death of our former headmaster. We know that everyone is very frightened from recent events in the past few months, and probably fear that Hogwarts is no longer safe. It has been proven by the Department of International Magical Cooperation that some of Dumbledore's spells and hexes he placed upon the school still stand, making Hogwarts the safest place to be right now. It is highly recommended you return, not only for your safety, but so you can continue your education as well.
If you are convinced, I shall update you of some changes. Hogsmeade will now be open to students everyday from 3 p.m to 6 p.m., so that students can remain in direct contact with their families. Professor McGonagall was to be appointed headmistress, but she resigned towards the end of the summer. Filling the position of headmaster will be I, Professor Snape, due to my qualifications and dedication to Dumbledore and the school. There are also a few new changes to your classes...
- Transfiguration post will be filled by Professor Walsh.
- The new Slytherin Head of House is Professor Slughorn.
- Muggle studies will no longer be offered, we apologize if you planned on enrolling in this class.
We are also sorry to inform you that Hagrid has resigned from teaching Care of Magical Creatures and from being gamekeeper. Replacing him as gamekeeper will be Mr. Filtch, Grubbly-Plank taking over as professor for Care of Magical Creatures.
Your list of school supplies is enclosed in the envelope. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. It is more important then ever that you return to the school and use caution everywhere you go.
