If you're looking for some amazing plot with full of action and adventure...
this really isn't it.
This is, however, a statement.
Keep reading. Follow along closely. Try not to get lost between the spaces.
The term 'plot' has several meanings but they basically all come down to this; a plan listing events. Yes, simple, isn't it?
But plots, no matter how interesting the idea is, never seems to work on these role-playing sites.
Oh, you might argue about this, but how many times have you caught someone ignoring the current situation or even better!-- not reading the summary that the admin had spent more or less than a minute on.
Well I'm spending more than a minute.
Harry Potter RP's tend to stick to the same themes of plot concepts: Voldemort never existing, new staff ruling the school, different couple pairing, canon characters living/dying, stuck in a time period (or in some cases, time periods combine)...
Et cetera... et cetera.
Why can I simply not give you the feel of the website, huh? Wouldn't that be better?
I can simply explain to you the s e t t i n g of the site; what you're getting yourself into.
Though J.K. Rowling invented Hogwarts, she never exploited it properly; the focus was, of course, on her protagonist Harry Potter. Nonetheless, Hogwarts was never noticed to be like any other normal school; there was never any significant signs of school clubs, awards, and especially: social activity. The most Rowling touched on, regarding the subject of 'cliques', were the Slytherins hating the Gryffindors, and the Gryffindors hating the Slytherins.
So let's take you back awhile. Let's take you back twenty or so years before Harry even went to school...
Let's take you back at a time when blood and social status not only made you superior than others, it made you powerful ; in a time where dating was actually a 'big' thing and education wasn't taken so seriously ; in a time where cliques were made and enemies and allies were born ; in a time where there were more clubs and sports than just quidditch and prefects ; in a time where detention hall wasn't a punishment, it was just another social gathering ; in a time where teenage angst was mixed with teenage drama ; in a time where there were more intense ways of getting high, knocked up, or sent to another world ; in a time where everything was limitless.
There is no specific word for these feelings and experiences, but we can just call it one thing:
1976
We're not the kids that were born in that year ; we're the kids who lived that year.
